Improving your page rank

There are many ways to effectively market a website. Some cost nothing but time and attention. Blogging is one of the most effective ways to market your site and can be done for free. The more you write on or about your site, the more Google looks at it. If what you’re writing is of high quality and contains the keywords found in your keyword market research, Google will raise the score it gives your site. The higher the score or “page rank,” the higher on the list your site will be when someone types those keywords into Google. Eventually, you will rank on the first page, and then in the top 5. As your site moves up, your business will grow because more people will see your site in the listings. This turns your site into an effective and valuable sales tool, not just a placeholder for your basic business information.

There are many other types of marketing techniques that can be used to draw traffic to your site. Some are faster, but generally cost more money. Blogging alone will not get you to the first page of a Google search but it is a really important part of getting there. In the end, you will still need to continually produce quality content on or about your site to maximize all of the other types of marketing efforts.
